Question 1

How does Resumify work?

Accepted Answer

You fill in a simple form with your work experience, skills, and target job — and optionally paste the actual job posting you're applying to. Our AI (powered by Claude) then crafts a professional, ATS-optimized resume tailored to that specific posting (or to your role, if you skip the paste) in under 3 minutes. You can also generate an optional tailored cover letter for the same company and posting. You preview both, then download them free while Resumify is free for a limited time.

Question 2

Can Resumify tailor my resume to a specific job posting?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In Step 2 of the builder there's a "Target job posting" box — paste the full job description you're applying to, and our AI tailors your resume (and the optional cover letter) to that specific posting. It uses only your real experience from the form, no fabrication. If you skip the paste, your resume is tailored to the target role you typed instead. Either way, downloading is free for a limited time.

Question 3

Is there a free way to check my existing CV before building a new one?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Resumify offers a free ATS checker at resumify.cloud/ats-checker — upload or paste the CV you already have and get an instant score with concrete feedback on content and readability. If you also paste a job posting, you'll see a Job Match score with the exact keywords you're missing. No signup. Your CV isn't stored on our servers. If the score is low, one click opens the builder pre-filled with your data (and the same posting) so you can rebuild without retyping.

Question 4

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

Nothing right now. Resumify is free for a limited time: your resume and an optional tailored cover letter, with no card, no signup and no subscription. You keep your files forever.

Question 5

Is the cover letter included or extra?

Accepted Answer

Included, with no extra charge. When you build a resume on Resumify, you can choose to generate a tailored cover letter for a specific company before downloading. While Resumify is free, both are free, or you can skip the cover letter entirely and download just the resume.

Question 6

How does the cover letter generator work?

Accepted Answer

After building your resume, click "Add a tailored cover letter" on the preview page. Enter the company name (and optionally the hiring manager and the full job description), set your notice period if you have one, and the AI generates a cover letter tailored to that specific application — using only your real experience from the resume, never fabricated. You can edit, regenerate, or skip before downloading.

Question 7

Can I download just the resume without the cover letter?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The cover letter is optional. On the preview page after generating your resume, you can either click "Add a tailored cover letter (free)" or "Download resume only" — your choice. Skipping the cover letter is entirely up to you.

Question 8

What is ATS and why does it matter?

Accepted Answer

ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is software that parses and organises resumes so recruiters can search and rank applications. Poorly formatted resumes can arrive scrambled on a recruiter's screen, which can hurt your chances of being read. Resumify formats yours with a clean structure and relevant keywords so ATS can read it cleanly.

Question 9

Can I edit my resume before downloading?

Accepted Answer

Yes. After the AI generates your resume you can click "Edit before downloading" to go back and update your information, then regenerate for free as many times as you need. The same applies to the cover letter — you can edit the text or regenerate it from a different company name or job description.

Question 10

What format are the documents downloaded in?

Accepted Answer

You get your resume in TWO formats. First, a polished PDF downloads to your device, with your photo embedded if you uploaded one, ready to upload to any job board or application portal. Second, an editable Word (.docx) copy you can download from the confirmation screen and edit in Word, Google Docs, or LibreOffice. If you added a cover letter, it comes in both formats too, as a separate file each time. The Word copies do not include your photo (photo stays embedded only in the device-local PDF), so you can edit the Word file freely without a privacy tradeoff.

Question 11

Is my data safe?

Accepted Answer

We do not store your resume on our servers. While Resumify is free, we keep no customer record and send no follow-up email. IP addresses used to block abuse are deleted within an hour. Form data is kept in your browser's local storage only during the session and is automatically cleared after you download your resume and cover letter.

Question 12

Can I build more than one resume?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. You can tailor a different resume and cover letter for every job application, and each one is free while Resumify is free.

Question 13

What if I am not happy with the result?

Accepted Answer

You can preview your full resume and cover letter before downloading. If you are not satisfied, edit your details and regenerate as many times as you like. If you have a problem after downloading, contact us at support@resumify.cloud.

Question 14

Does Resumify work for any industry?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Resumify has generated resumes and cover letters for professionals across tech, marketing, finance, healthcare, education, hospitality, and more. The AI adapts its language and keywords to your specific field and target role.

Question 15

Do I need an account to use Resumify?

Accepted Answer

No account required. Just fill in the form, generate, and download.

Question 16

Will employers reject my resume for being written with AI?

Accepted Answer

Some hiring teams have started pushing back on AI-written applications, and 2026 survey coverage suggests a meaningful share of hiring managers discard applications they believe were machine-generated. The reaction is to a specific pattern, though: applications that read as generic, that could have been sent to any employer, or that make claims the candidate cannot support in conversation. Resumify is built to avoid that pattern. It writes only from the experience you enter — it does not invent achievements or inflate numbers — and the generator is instructed never to use the filler phrases recruiters read as machine-written ("results-driven", "leverage", "seamless", "team player", "detail-oriented", "synergy", and others, in any grammatical form). Paste the actual job posting and the output is shaped to that one role rather than mass-produced.

Question 17

Can a recruiter tell my resume was made with an AI tool?

Accepted Answer

What recruiters actually notice is generic phrasing, vague claims with no specifics, and language that could describe anyone. Those are the tells — not the tool. A resume built from your real projects, employers, numbers and certifications reads as yours because the content is yours. Our advice either way: make sure every line on your CV is something you could talk about for two minutes if asked, because assessments and reference checks are arriving earlier in the process than they used to.
