It uses only your real experience from the form, no fabrication. If you skip the paste, your resume is tailored to the target role you typed instead. Either way, the $2.99 price stays the same.

If you also paste a job posting, you'll see a Job Match score with the exact keywords you're missing. No signup, nothing stored. If the score is low, one click opens the builder pre-filled with your data (and the same posting) so you can rebuild without retyping.

How does the cover letter generator work?

After building your resume, click "Add a tailored cover letter" on the preview page. Enter the company name (and optionally the hiring manager and the full job description), set your notice period if you have one, and the AI generates a cover letter tailored to that specific application — using only your real experience from the resume, never fabricated. You can edit, regenerate, or skip before downloading.

Can I download just the resume without the cover letter?

Yes. The cover letter is optional. On the preview page after generating your resume, you can either click "Add a tailored cover letter (free)" or "Download resume only" — your choice. Skipping the cover letter does not change the $2.99 price.

What is ATS and why does it matter?

ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is software that parses and organises resumes so recruiters can search and rank applications. Poorly formatted resumes can arrive scrambled on a recruiter's screen, which can hurt your chances of being read. Resumify formats yours with a clean structure and relevant keywords so ATS can read it cleanly.

Can I edit my resume before paying?

Yes. After the AI generates your resume you can click "Edit before paying" to go back and update your information, then regenerate for free as many times as you need. The same applies to the cover letter — you can edit the text or regenerate it from a different company name or job description.

What format are the documents downloaded in?

You get your resume in TWO formats from a single $2.99 purchase. First, a polished PDF downloads to your device the moment your payment is confirmed — with your photo embedded, if you uploaded one — ready to upload to any job board or application portal. Second, an editable Word (.docx) copy is emailed to you as a backup, so you can open it in Word, Google Docs, or LibreOffice and make edits over time without paying again. If you added a cover letter, it arrives in both formats too — as a separate file each time. The Word copies do not include your photo (photo stays embedded only in the device-local PDF), so you can edit the Word file freely without a privacy tradeoff.
